Woodward WWTP – Digester No. HSDIG P03 & 05 Refurbishment
Complete refurbishment and rehabilitation of two existing anaerobic digesters (HSDIGP03 and HSDIGP05) at the Woodward Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Sequenced construction within an operating wastewater treatment facility, completing and commissioning Digester 05 before taking Digester 03 out of service.
Complete digester emptying, cleaning and solids removal, including dewatering/thickening, sampling, weighing and off-site disposal of residual material.
Installation of full-area internal scaffolding systems to facilitate inspection, structural repairs, coating removal and application throughout the digesters.
Removal of existing protective coatings and complete recoating of the interior steel digester covers, including inspection and repair of existing structural welds.
Removal and replacement of full-area interior concrete waterproofing systems, including inspection and necessary repairs to digester concrete walls and base slabs.
Rehabilitation of digester roof systems, including insulation replacement/repair, peripheral seals, access hatches and new secondary emergency relief hatches.
Removal and replacement or refurbishment of five mixer and draft-tube assemblies in each digester, including associated mechanical and electrical work.
Replacement of critical digester gas-system components, including gas valves, while protecting and reinstating existing pressure-relief valves and flame arresters.
Extensive sludge piping and valve rehabilitation, including replacement of sludge valves, drain and overflow piping and modifications to existing building drainage connections.
Modifications to existing digester gas huts and associated building systems, including new access openings and miscellaneous building repairs.
Comprehensive hydrostatic, piping and digester gas-system testing, including gas-pressure pre-testing and final TSSA testing to applicable codes.
Full commissioning and operational integration of mechanical, electrical, piping, mixer and valve systems in coordination with plant operations.
